Since our new site has gone live, we have travelled to the beautiful country of Finland where we spent 3 days photographing the buildings located on Helsinki’s city centre, namely Steven Holl’s Kiasma Museum which comprises of searing floors where the exhibitions rotate throughout the year. Currently the main exhibition is titled ‘Hits’ featuring some of the museums most popular works. Giovanni Anselmo’s ‘Ultramarine’ instantly connected with me. It feature’s a film where the shore is shot from above creating a kinetic painting of aerial seawater with ‘froth’ mixed with shore. It’s a hypnotic and simple piece that had me frozen. We also photographed the Music Centre by LPR Architects, and Alvar Aalto’s classic Finlandia.
July turned out to be a very busy month for us where a number of our clients’s projects were completed. We begun work on Stephen Davy Peter Smith’s Branch Place scheme alongside the picturesque Regents Canal, a 5 floor residential on Highbury Place designed by Mackay Architects and built by Famella headed by Tony Carter, and David Appleton’s Barnes House also built by Famella. August will see finished photography of Tectus’s new Kingston Quaker Centre and updated films for Jemca Toyota Edgware and Reading showrooms.
